Aleppo laurel soap is a versatile all-over body bar that can be used on the face, hair, or to shave. Considered one of the purest artisanal soaps ever made, it contains only five ingredients — olive oil, laurel oil, water, lye, and essential oils. Dating back 2,000 years, this ancient Syrian soap-making tradition continues today in small handcrafted batches, cooked in heated cauldrons and air-dried for nine months.

Our exclusive face + body mitts are handwoven in Hama, Syria, by our artisan partner Abdullah using centuries-old techniques on traditional wooden looms. Made of 100% cotton, they fit comfortably in your hand, are gentle on the skin, and kind to the environment. Hang to dry after use and replace after six months.

SOCIAL IMPACT

Abdullah’s weaving workshop is a family business that has existed for three generations in Hama, Syria, specializing in the ancient art of cotton towel and textile weaving dating back to 1853. When the workshop opened, there were about 600 of its kind, but today due to the war, Abdullah and his family run the only workshop left in Syria dedicated entirely to the traditional craft of hand-woven towels. Each towel purchase supports the advancement of artisan entrepreneurs, both in the U.S. and the Middle East.
