FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SOAP

Why does my soap get so soft and “disintegrate” at the end? This happens because the soap is made from all natural ingredients. Without any chemicals to “bind” it together it will naturally soften. While this is completely normal, try to keep away from prolonged direct moisture and/or allow to dry between uses.

How do I clean the leftover “soap” bits from my soap dish? Easy! Use hot water and a washcloth and it will come right off. We also recommend using a ceramic or natural stone soap dish for your laurel soap bar.

Is it safe to use use on my face and hair? Yes! You can absolutely use it anywhere and clean anything. Including WASHING DISHES, MAKEUP BRUSHES and LAUNDRY STAINS. We’ve even had customers use it to shave their legs with it. Since the soap bars are made with three kinds of natural oils they are nourishing for the face, body and hair. Customers have uses the soap after a facial as a gentle cleanser that also helps to soothe their red and irritated skin.

We are a family of four how many soap bars do we need? We recommend one per person. This is to maintain best hygiene practices. We also recommend that the soap bar you use on your body is separate than the soap bar you use for hand washing.

I have sensitive skin, what are the soap ingredients? The soap is made from water, lye, laurel berry oil, olive oil and essential oil. It does not contain any dyes, colors or chemicals agents. Laurel berry oil is a natural anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-itching agent. It will naturally soothe and clean your skin. Nonetheless, we recommend doing a test patch before using the soap if you are unsure.

I want to switch to bar soap what do I need to know? First you will need a soap dish or soap stand inside your shower. Use one made of natural material; stone, glass or cement is preferred. You do not need to dry your soap with a towel after every use, just as long as it is stored in a cool dry place so it can naturally breathe and dry completely. You can use the bar directly on your body to wash, some people prefer using a loofah with it, either way works. That’s it!

LOOFAH

How often should I replace my loofah?
For optimum skin care results, we recommend every six months. Since it is made from natural fibers it can attract mold over time.

How do I care for my loofah?
Best to allow it to air dry in between showers. One trick is to pop it onto the top of an empty shampoo bottle or at the end of your tub or sink faucet. This way it allows it to breath and dry naturally. This is to avoid any bacteria or mold collecting onto the natural cotton fibers.

I have sensitive skin, which loofah strength should I use? All of our loofahs are safe to use on sensitive skin. It is a matter of preference and the strength level of exfoliation you prefer.

Do I use the loofah as a wet or dry scrub? Both! Our founder has sensitive skin and uses the strong loofah four days a week dry scrubbing and three days a week wet scrubbing. It all comes down to preference but both will help with exfoliation, circulation and reduce cellulite all while keeping your skin soft and glowing.

Soap bag

What is the purpose of a soap bag or soap pouch? Our cotton drawstring bags and pouches allows your soap bar to breathe, so you can travel with it as well as store your mask in it. We’ve designed the perfect size to fit both mask + soap or each one on its own. When traveling, after using your bar soap in the shower, allow it to dry completely before placing it back in the pouch. Your travel bag will smell like fresh clean laundry! For your reusable mask, store it with a soap bar, it will keep your mask smelling clean and fresh, a convenient way to wash it each time you return home.
