ALEPPO SOAP Aleppo laurel soap is the perfect all over body bar can be used on face, hair or to shave. This all natural soap is considered one of the purest artisanal soaps ever made with only five ingredients (olive oil, laurel oil, water, lye and essential oils). Dating back 2,000 years, this ancient tradition of Syrian soap-making, is still prepared in small handcrafted batches, cooked in heated cauldrons, and then air-dried and cured for nine months.

THE DETAILS

Our Aleppo Artisan Wraps are woven on traditional metal looms by skilled weavers in the villages surrounding Aleppo, Syria. While not fully handwoven, each piece is carefully guided and finished by artisans, ensuring quality and care in every weave.

Lightweight and beautifully versatile, these wraps are perfect to wear as a scarf or shawl, use as a sarong at the beach, or enjoy as a light throw or blanket at home or while traveling. The soft cotton weave becomes even gentler with each wash, and the hand-tied tassels add a refined, artisanal finish.

Each wrap carries a story of resilience and heritage, preserving Aleppo’s weaving traditions through modern, everyday use.

SOCIAL IMPACT Hasan has been in the laurel soap business since 1984, and has persevered despite the lack of resources due to the war in Syria. Connecting his artisanal soaps to a global market helps strengthen the local farming community and contribute to Syria’s economic development. Upon arrival to our warehouse in Denver, the soaps are individually wrapped and packaged by hand.
