Artist Spotlight: Travels with Juin Ho

Starting this month, we will be featuring various creatives for our Artist Spotlight series to contrast our Syrian made soaps.

Jiun Ho

Juin Ho

Our first featured artist is Juin Ho, a Malaysian born interior and furniture designer based in San Francisco. He moved to the United States in the early 1990s to study interior design and architecture at Chicago’s International Academy of Merchandising and Design and later started his own design company.

An ardent traveler, Jiun has visited more than one hundred countries, and this globetrotting has informed and enriched his prodigious output. His furniture collections have even been referred to as a tangible travelogue.

We at Mint+Laurel are inspired by the richness and texture of his work as we believe it compliments beautifully our products and the causes we stand behind. Jiun’s multi-layered colors, fabrics and materials in contrast to Syrian made soaps take us on an adventure through time and space, from rustic landscapes to dreamy destinations.

Just as our work seeks to change the conversation in the Middle East region while preserving traditional craft techniques, Juin’s work celebrates diversity and beauty around the world.
